It began in Dallas, Texas, when Jamie Martinez, a Project Manager overseeing the construction of a Costco depot, met Ellie Zeron, a Chemical Engineer working in the oil and gas industry. Jamie later convinced Ellie to move to Washington State, where they built their family and welcomed two children.
During one of Jamie’s construction projects, the family lived in San Mateo, California, where frequent trips to Napa and Sonoma inspired Ellie to pursue a new path. In 2012, she earned her Winemaker Certification from the UC Davis Extension Program. Drawn to its distinctive terroir, Ellie set her sights on Washington State’s Red Mountain AVA—an appellation known for its heat accumulation, well-drained soils, and capacity to produce structured, age-worthy red wines.
In 2016, the family acquired five acres, securing a vineyard site defined by warm days, cooling winds, and naturally low-vigor soils. Today, the Martinez-Zeron family is dedicated to meticulous vineyard stewardship, limited-production wines that express the power, depth, and unmistakable character of Red Mountain.
